Rora Dairy Case Study

Rora Dairy

Peterhead

Middleton of Rora, partnered with Forster Group to install a 130kWp ground-mounted solar array and 56 kWh battery storage system to power its growing Rora Dairy operation, home to one of Scotland's premium natural yoghurt brands.

The Challenge

As the business has grown, so too has its energy demand, driven by modern robotic milking systems, refrigeration, processing and packaging. To meet this sustainably, Rora turned to Forster Group to design a renewable energy solution that would protect the landscape while delivering reliable, low-carbon power.

Our Solution

The resulting 130kWp ground-mounted and battery storage system was designed to sit within its rural surroundings, complementing existing farm buildings and maximising on-site generation. The new solar array now generates a significant proportion of the farm’s electricity on site, powering everything from milking and cooling to yoghurt production and storage.
