FORSTER SKILLS ACADEMY

At the start of 2021, Forster celebrated the graduation of the final group of Apprentices to achieve their industry qualification in Roofing Occupations (SCQF Level 5).  Forster Skills Academy commenced in April 2015 and the project completed in January 2021.

During this time 50 Modern Apprentices were employed and registered into the sector specific apprenticeship program that was designed by industry to meet the house building sector requirements.

Apprentices were recruited from across Scotland to work on Forster sites, bringing new talent into an industry where there are significant shortages.  The training was delivered as blend of on-site and off-site residentially based learning throughout the two year program.  The residential element not only provided critical sector specific skills and knowledge but also focused on the important development of essential life and personal skills.

All the team here at Forster are exceptionally proud to have invested in this unique Apprenticeship program, creating a new generation of skilled, confident and knowledgeable workforce.
